Researchers at the University of Colorado Boulder released study data showing that 80% of marijuana users, in places where it’s legal, use marijuana before and/or after a workout.
The study included data from 600 marijuana users in Colorado, Nevada, Oregon, Washington and California.
“There is a stereotype that cannabis use leads people to be lazy and couch-locked and not physically active, but these data suggest that this is not the case,” said professor Angela Bryan.
Additionally, 345 “co-users” (persons who use marijuana with exercise) said they were more likely to use it after than before exercising, while 67% said they did both.
Among the co-users, 70% said it increased enjoyment of exercise, 78% said it boosted recovery, and 52% said it heightened motivation.
