Wisconsin residents with intractable epilepsy can qualify for cannabidiol (CBD), a substance derived from cannabis which contains no THC. The production of CBD and the cultivation of cannabis is illegal in Wisconsin; therefore, qualifying patients along with their doctor have to request an investigational drug permit from the FDA. If a doctor gets approval, the state will then determine which pharmacies and/or doctors can dispense CBD.
