Wisconsin Lawmakers Agree that CBD Oil Should Be Legal

Cannabis Wisconsin

Discussions held on January 3 regarding medical marijuana in Wisconsin ended with mixed results. Republican legislative leaders can’t agree on medical marijuana. Robin Vos is open to medical marijuana while Scott Fitzgerald is adamantly against it.

Vos wants to see CBD oil, to treat seizure disorders, accessible before anything else, according to ABC 2 News. The only thing that the Assembly Spokesman and Senate Majority Leader can agree on is that CBD oil should be accessible. Votes to allow access to CBD oil exist in the state’s Senate.

Further discussions are required, perhaps with study and statistical information supporting the benefits of medical marijuana, to have a more in-depth conversation later in 2017. Fitzgerald will need a lot of swaying to vote for legal medical marijuana in the state. Wisconsin Republicans oppose moving toward marijuana legalization of any kind, but with Vos’ advocacy for medical marijuana, that may change soon.
