Wisconsin’s First Hemp-Related Retail Store Opens

Weed WI

PriceLand Hemp opened its doors on April 20 in Black River Falls, Wisconsin. The store offers locally-grown hemp products.

CBD was the product in highest-demand on opening day, according to WISN 12 News. Those ages 18 and older can purchase products at the store. No specific demographic is targeted; the store focuses on offering reasonably priced, Wisconsin-cultivated organic hemp products.

Owner, Joel Peterson, touted the uses for hemp by saying, “Hemp protein. We make lotions, soap, fiber, building materials. It’s just endless. Wisconsin’s motto is ‘Move Forward’ and I’m sticking with that.”

While other stores in the state offer hemp products, PriceLand Hemp is the first all-hemp store, selling only hemp-derived products. The store also helps educate people regarding the law and benefits of hemp.

When he is fully staffed, Peterson expects to employ a total of 60 people. There are also plans to grow hemp on site. Thirty-five acres are contracted for at local farms for his business’ cultivation. This year’s crop alone could exceed $1-million in value.
